Artist's Statement

Since its very beginning, photography has always been a combination of art and science. What is called the "digital revolution" is simply an extension of this relationship.

Whether I am working in a traditional darkroom with chemicals and safe lights or in my digital "dim" room, I am intrigued by the possibilities presented by light and shadow.

Equipment
Most of my recent work has been produced with a Fuji S1 with Nikor and Tamron lenses.  I optimize images with Adobe Photoshop and print on an Epson 2200P on various papers chosen to enhance each individual photograph.  I am also revisiting my past work, which I created using film and chemistry, and digitizing and exploring the possibilities that have been opened up through the new technology.

Matting and Framing
I have always felt that as an artist I should maintain complete control over the process from initial exposure to final presentation.  Therefore I do all of my own matting and framing, using only archival materials.
